About Prescriptly
Prescriptly is a GPhC-registered online prescribing service specialising in clinically proven weight loss (Wegovy & Mounjaro) and hair loss (Finasteride & Minoxidil) treatments. Our service is entirely online - complete a short consultation, receive a prescription from a qualified UK clinician, and have your medication delivered discreetly to your door. No GP appointment needed.
Yes. Prescriptly's prescribers are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) - the independent regulator in Great Britain. All medication is dispensed by our GPhC-registered partner pharmacy. You can verify our prescribers' GPhC registration at any time on their public register.
All consultations are reviewed by qualified pharmacist-prescribers registered with the GPhC. We never use automated AI systems to make prescribing decisions — every consultation is personally assessed by a healthcare professional before any prescription is issued.
Email us at hello@prescriptly.uk or call 01234 567 890 (Mon–Fri 9am–6pm, Sat 10am–2pm). We aim to respond to all enquiries within one business day. You can also use our contact page.
Weight Loss
Clinical trial results are impressive. In the STEP 1 trial, Wegovy (semaglutide injection) achieved an average of 15% body weight loss over 68 weeks. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) delivered up to 20–22.5% weight loss in the SURMOUNT-1 trial at the highest dose. Oral Wegovy (semaglutide pill) achieved approximately 15% in the OASIS-1 trial. Individual results vary and are best supported by healthy lifestyle changes alongside medication.
Both are given as weekly self-injections and work by suppressing appetite and slowing digestion. Wegovy (semaglutide) targets the GLP-1 hormone receptor only. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) targets both GLP-1 and GIP receptors — this dual action is thought to be behind its stronger average weight loss results. Wegovy is also available as a daily pill (oral semaglutide) for those who prefer not to inject. Our clinicians will recommend the most appropriate option based on your health history and goals.
Yes. Both Wegovy and Mounjaro are MHRA-approved and have been studied in large, long-term clinical trials involving tens of thousands of participants. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — nausea, vomiting, or constipation — and these typically ease after the first few weeks as your body adjusts. Our clinical team carefully reviews your medical history before prescribing to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate for you.
Research shows that weight tends to return if medication is stopped without sustained lifestyle changes. Many patients choose to continue long term to maintain their results, while others use it as a kickstart alongside building sustainable healthy habits. We offer ongoing prescriptions, clinical monitoring, and support — we'll help you plan the right approach for your situation.
Hair Loss
Male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) is caused by a genetic sensitivity to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone derived from testosterone. DHT causes susceptible hair follicles to progressively miniaturise, producing thinner hair until eventually the follicle stops producing visible hair. It typically begins with a receding hairline or thinning at the crown.
We offer Finasteride (oral tablet — blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT) and Minoxidil (topical solution or foam — increases blood flow to follicles and prolongs the hair growth phase). These are the two most clinically proven, MHRA-approved treatments for male pattern hair loss. Our clinicians may recommend one or both, depending on your history and the degree of hair loss.
Most men notice a reduction in shedding within 1–2 months. Visible regrowth typically begins around months 3–4, with optimal results after 12 months of consistent use. If you stop treatment, hair loss is likely to resume within 6–12 months, so ongoing use is recommended to maintain results.
The earlier you start, the better. It is significantly easier to maintain existing hair than to regrow hair from a follicle that has been dormant for years. If you've noticed thinning, a receding hairline, or increased shedding, starting a consultation now gives you the best chance of preserving — and potentially regrowing — your hair.
Consultations
Yes, completely free with no obligation. The online questionnaire takes around 5 minutes to complete. You only pay if a treatment is prescribed and you choose to go ahead. If our team determines treatment isn't suitable for you, there is no charge.
The online questionnaire takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. A qualified clinician then reviews your answers — typically within a few hours on working days. If approved, your prescription is issued the same day and your medication dispatched promptly.
If our team determines that a treatment isn't clinically appropriate for you, we'll clearly explain why and recommend next steps — usually your GP. Your safety always comes first. You will not be charged if your consultation is declined.
Absolutely. We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Your personal and health data is encrypted, stored securely, and only accessible to authorised members of our clinical team.
